Finish with mineral oil to give the stone some gloss or leave in its natural state. Soapstone has a soft feel to it do to its high concentration of talc. Beverages will stay very hot for a longer time and you need to be careful that your beverage is not too hot as to burn your lip. As well as this mug is with hot it is also great with cold. Put it in the freezer for 10 minutes and pour milk into it and the top of the milk will ice up. Also a drink made with ice cubes will stay cooler for much longer than a conventional cup.
